A small group found refuge on a remote island, which is connected to the mainland only by a heavily guarded bridge. But when a member of the community, Jamie, along with his son Spike, leaves the island to undertake a risky mission on the mainland, he is confronted with a reality that no one had foreseen. Besides the ordinary infected, he also encounters other survivors who have changed in unexpected and terrifying ways. Humanity still faces a long, rocky, and dangerous road ahead...
